רוני היקר, קיבלתי אתמול את הספר ששלחת...

Dear Rony, I received your Alma Book yesterday. It kindled a very strong and lovely emotion. I’ve gone through it several times. Who else can receive such a book?

So, the day begins... I hope you, Yoav & Shay are well and happy

I wrote Sylvia that she gave the leading clue. She’ll be glad. She does not own the building which used to be an armory where soldiers marched, and then boxing matches. That’s the dance studio. If you look at the section of the musicians, on the page after my picture – there’s Tomek the cook. So – it’s wonderful.

I also received the letter from Joseph. That too is very pleasant. That you returned with peace of mind. His letter is the first piece of mail in the new mail box.
I walked down to the new mail box with Allona and Basia (two 11 year old girls you met.) They ask “where is that man”? It seems Allona’s mother who telephoned them for the first time today – as they just got a new phone – said she will stay more years in Tel Aviv. I wonder if she has a new boy friend. So we walked down with Homer and Kasztan. Homer went to his enemy’s yard looking for a good fight.

Ukrainian workers build the little house in the wet heat. In the mailbox, the first letter ever is from Joseph. We walk back through the field. The workers have 2 baby mice in a pail. They give them to the girls and we set them free. They are crying.

Two Austrians from Vienna have come for 2 nighs. She says I can sleep over in Vienna if it’s convenient on way to ? but it is out of way. Another place in Saltzberg.

Next week i'll drive to Czech to see Yona. She remembers seeing you when you were born in hospital.  I think about Israel and you being there. What other nation gives back captured lands? Do you know exactly why? Israel would be a large country if this didn’t happen and it seems similar to “The Jew in the Pale Settlements wil now own land.” Like it was in Poland/Russia. That all Jews know how important Israel is to them…!.
I went to Hanya the woman who translated the Upassana. Her man Krzystof is a graphic artist and works for the Jewish magazine “Midrash”. He also is doing something now for Israeli consul. A Fun book. I showed him your Sadna book. Also a young woman Agnieszka also a graphic artist was here. She said “good work”. Her father is a known economist. He is my age. He found my “ideas and opinions” interesting and wants to do a “program”. Alma speaks on this and that. Living here has taken my mind from the black/white arena.
I see Austrians are awake. I’m cook. My back went out and Sasza the white Russian backman comes at 11:00. He’s in love. He’s had 2 stupid marriages before so…

So, the day begins... I hope you, Yoav & Shay are well and happy!

                                                Much love – Ma Alma
